NEW Canon 5D mkII Review

The ninja strikes again, the new Canon 5D mkII is the new baby in the market. So far is the most complete DSLR in the market.

Here are some good features:

  • 35mm Full Frame CMOS Sensor
  • New Digic4 processor
  • 14bit Image RAW
  • ISO expandable from 50 to 25600 with incredible low noise
  • 21 mega pixels of resolution
  • Live View capabilities
  • New Creative Auto Mode
  • 3in VGA LCD multicoated
  • Full HD (1080, 30fps) 16:9 movie recording with no time limit (depends on CF card) and capable of take a still while videoing
  • External mic imput
  • Stereo sound
  • Weather sealed body
  • Can be controlled wireless (With Remote Controller RC-1/RC-5)
  • Electronic Sensor cleaner / Dust removal
  • New “Quick Control Screen”
  • New Peripheral Illumination Correction
  • Records also Small RAW image files
  • HDMI output
  • Compact body
  • Battery memory / Battery management
  • Support UDMA CF cards
  • Auto include Copyright Data on pictures files (check it out)

Things missing in Canon 5D mkII, and in almost all Canon bodies

  • No incorporated flash (some times useful for quick fill in)
  • Canon bodies still can’t wireless control Canon flashguns by them self like Nikon does
  • No back mini LCD screen
  • No incorporated angle LCD screen
  • No customizable screen preview
  • No LCD auto off like 400D
  • No GPS included (like many compact cameras)
  • No GPS Option (like Nikon D90)
  • Still only 9 AF points (Nikon D90 got 11)
  • No incorporated WiFi (Like many compact cameras does)
  • And things I haven’t think of.
