Gino Sannino – Portrait of a story
Here are a couple of pictures I took in Italy when my uncle Gino Sannino (one of the most if not the most hard working person I’ve ever met) was showing to me and my girlfriend his latest project, he was building a beautiful house made of stones located on the Tuscany hills of Vicchio province of Mugello, you know, Tuscany style with an incredible view.
Gino Sannino has to divide his time being a family man, building contractor, inventor, and together with his wife Zionela being an activist against Italian corruption and Mafia at magistrates level in Florence, Bologna and Milan.
Gino and Zionela have been battling several court cases for almost twenty years against corrupt Italian magistrates and scammers like the Boni family of Vicchio del Mugello, they have been through a lot, they even faced near Christmas 2006 an eviction (criminal style) from the house Gino built with his own hands more than 20 years ago.
There is a website www.casosannino.com (in Italian) which contains all the information that concerns their battles and the history of their case, it includes official documents, video, voice recordings and shocking photos.
This is an extreme case of injustice against an honest hard working Italian family victim of greed and crime impunity.
The following two pictures were taken with my Canon 20D with an 17-40 f4 L USM @ 40mm, f4, ISO 800.
Enjoy.
